Ambrose University was pleased to host a partial solar eclipse viewing party in partnership with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada this past Saturday.

With over 100 people in attendance, many of them professors and students, the unique phenomenon, where the moon passes in front of the sun, captivated the entire crowd as they watched through the dense fog.

Dr. Stephen Jeans, Lecturer, Earth and Space Sciences and organizer of the event, let everyone know each stage of the eclipse as it was happening. Spectators were able to observe through telescopes, or hand-made viewing devices over the 2 hours the eclipse was visible to Calgarians.
