What should you write?

• Introduce yourself and the award(s) you received
• Thank our donors at the start and end of your letter
• Explain how their support has made a positive impact in your life
• Help the donor get to know you by sharing your interests, hobbies and Ambrose experience

Consider what you can write about?

• What do you hope to do with your Ambrose education? What's your dream?
• How has this financial assistance helped you achieve your goals?
• What financial barriers did the assistance help you overcome?
• Did it allow you to volunteer or travel for academic purposes?
• What volunteer or campus organizations are you involved with?
• Why did you decide to study at Ambrose?
• What are some recent accomplishments or other Ambrose highlights you can share?

Please remember:

• Grammar and spelling should be checked and correct – it is, after all, an academic award.
• Be genuine and sincere in the tone of your thank you letter.
• Show your personality. The formality remains, but you are now an appreciative recipient, rather than a prospective candidate. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging your enthusiasm and excitement about winning the scholarship.
• Submit your letter in a business-type structure.
• Above all, convey your message of thanks clearly and somewhat concisely.
