Ambrose University, Calgary, Alberta

At Ambrose University, we believe community and purpose go hand in hand. Recruitment is often a prospective student’s first connection to the university, and this role helps represent Ambrose to future students and school communities. This opening uses a lighter version of the standard Ambrose introduction without overbuilding the role.

Position Summary

The Contract Recruiter serves as an on-the-road recruiter and ambassador of Ambrose University by providing information about Ambrose programs and services for the purpose of generating inquiries and applications through ELAA and other recruitment events. This role supports student recruitment through school visits, fairs, presentations, and follow-up lead generation activities.

This position requires flexibility, including travel, occasional evening work, and periodic overnight stays depending on the recruitment schedule. This is a modest structural addition to align the JD with your standard format while keeping the manager’s core intact.

Reporting Relationship

Reports To: Recruitment & Admissions Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend prescribed recruitment events, primarily high school tour events including ELAA, CCUT, and various other fairs, to recruit prospective students for Ambrose University.
  • Provide accurate information about Ambrose University programs, admissions requirements, and student services in order to encourage prospective students toward application and enrolment. This lightly refines the manager’s original language without changing its substance.
  • Collect prospective student contact information to support further follow-up by Ambrose University, including the daily upload of contact card photos for entry into the university CRM.
  • Organize personal travel schedules and submit receipts for reimbursement.
  • Coordinate travel logistics in advance, including booking hotels, arranging transportation, and developing travel schedules for out-of-town or off-campus events. Travel may occur within the regular workday or require overnight stays for several nights at a time.
  • Communicate with the supervisor regarding successes, challenges, and outcomes of recruitment activity while on the road.
  • Duties and responsibilities performed within one’s capabilities that do not constitute a major change may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor. This standard closing responsibility clause comes from your current Ambrose template and is worth retaining.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably an Ambrose University graduate.
  • Preferred: Two years of work experience in customer service or a related field.

Skills and Requirements

  • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Ambrose programs, admission requirements, supports, and services, including familiarity with Alberta post-secondary systems.
  • Sensitivity and ability to work with a diversity of people and cultural groups.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel independently for extended periods of time.
  • High energy level reflected in strong work habits and sound work ethic.
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills, with flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and time management skills.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and clean driving abstract, with the ability to work flexible hours and travel as required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Faith and Mission Alignment

  • Agreement with Ambrose University’s values, mission, vision, and Statement of Faith. This is a reasonable standard addition from your current Ambrose template and should remain even in the trimmed version.
  • Ambrose employees agree to uphold and sign the University’s Statement of Faith upon initial appointment and to conduct their work in accordance with it.

Additional Requirements

  • Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory Criminal Records Check. This reflects both the manager’s original requirement and your Ambrose standard format.
  • In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
