The Commuter Life Leader (CLL) is crucial in helping to establish a community environment within the Watkins Commuter Collegium that is conducive to academic, spiritual, and social development, primarily through building intentional relationships with commuter students, planning events, and the maintenance (cleaning) of the collegium.
A CLL is to be a student who displays an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus and has a desire to support holistic growth in the lives of others. The CLL plays a vital role in creating community and connection for commuter students.
The CLL must commit to this position for the full academic year (end of August-April).
The CLL will fulfill the following;
- Be available for collegium shifts between 7:45am to 6pm with the exception of class & internship schedules.
- Carry out shift duties, hosting the collegium space, and planning and implementing meaningful programs connected to the Student Life mission and pillars.
- Collaborate with the Commuter Life Team in a weekly meeting to plan & implement educational and developmentally meaningful programs for commuter students.
- Initiate contact and conversation with commuter students within the collegium on a daily basis.
- Support the programs and events planned by your peers on the Commuter Life Team.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming environment within the collegium and complete administrative and housekeeping duties as assigned to your shift.
- Be a campus resource; aware of campus programs and services, providing referrals as needed.
- To act as a liaison between students and Student Life regarding needs, problems & concerns.
- To attend and encourage others to attend chapel.
- Attend CL team building and business meetings, all student leadership training and support events.
- Attend the Fall and Winter Student Leadership Retreat and be available for on campus training and preparation.
- Participate in new student orientation in Fall and Winter semesters in roles that help integrate new students into the life of Ambrose University.
Duties and responsibilities performed within one's capabilities that do not constitute a major change may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor either orally or in writing.
Reports to: Senior Commuter Life Leader & Director of Community Life
Current Ambrose commuter student with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and who is enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours to a maximum of 15 credits per semester
