Education (After-Degree)
Build on your undergraduate degree and prepare to support the individual learning needs of students from diverse communities. Design learning experiences that grow students' strengths and use technology to elevate learning. You put theory into action through practicums at schools in and around Calgary. At every step, benefit from close contact with a mentor eager to share practical knowledge. The Ambrose University Bachelor of Education focuses on preparing elementary teachers, but you graduate certified to teach any age level in the province of Alberta.
Ambrose University partners with Calgary and area school districts to place you in classrooms so you can start applying your learning and developing your teaching skills as early as your second semester. You’ll have field experience placements in each of the 4 semesters of the program.
This program is competency-based, grounded in research, and designed to prepare students to teach effectively in classrooms made up of diverse learners. Our main program goal is to prepare a successful graduate who can design inclusive learning experiences to accommodate all children, including those with exceptional learning needs and cultural diversity.
The Bachelor of Education (after-degree) is a two-year, 60-credit, cohort program focusing on elementary (K-6) education in Alberta. A previous degree is required prior to taking the B.Ed.
Teach in a variety of education settings:
- Public schools
