Ambrose University Welcomes Rev. Dr. Hubert Chau as Interim Chair of Theological Studies in Chinese

Calgary, Alberta – September 23, 2025 – Ambrose University is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Dr. Hubert P. Chau as the Interim Chair of Theological Studies in Chinese at Ambrose Seminary.

Dr. Chau brings a wealth of experience in pastoral ministry, theological education, and international mission. He has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Transitional Senior Pastor at South Edmonton Alliance Church, International Worker with the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada, and as a post-secondary professor. Since 2020, he has also taught in the Theological Studies in Chinese program at Ambrose Seminary.

His ministry has focused on practical pastoral theology, holistic discipleship, and equipping leaders in both Canadian and global Chinese church contexts. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Dr. Chau has dedicated his career to discipling and mentoring emerging leaders across languages and cultures.

Ambrose University President, Rev. Dr. Bryce Ashlin-Mayo shared, "I am pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Dr. Hubert Chau as Interim Chair of Theological Studies in Chinese at Ambrose Seminary. Rev. Dr. Chau is highly regarded and trusted within the church, and his leadership will enable Ambrose to serve the Chinese Church community with excellence through the education and formation of future leaders and ministers for God’s mission in Canada and around the world.
