This June, Ambrose President Rev. Dr. Bryce Ashlin-Mayo set off to connect with the leadership of Seminario Teológico Alianza and the denominational leadership of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Chile.

In travelling down to Chile, Bryce had the opportunity to foster relationships with denominational leaders within the Alliance. Bryce spoke about the partnership between Ambrose and Seminario Teológico Alianza, “The Master of Theological Studies (MTS) degree for their cohort of pastors will be such a profound investment for the Church in Chile, allowing some of their leaders to go onto PhD programs. This will allow the Seminary to offer more advanced degrees.”

The visit sparked further discussion about the growing challenge of having a large percentage of older pastors scheduled to retire in the next 5 to 10 years and not enough young people to replace them, both in Canada and Chile. There was a growing sense of encouragement and strengthened partnership upon strategizing potential solutions together further solidified through a shared time of prayer.

The trip was packed with an array of activities and events. Bryce spoke with a young adults group about following Jesus in a social media world. He went on to preach at  two Alliance churches in the surrounding communities of Temuco. He was also  invited to share several meals with the Seminary leadership and their families even being invited to watch a soccer game between Chile and Canada in the home of the Dean of Seminario Teológico Alianza.

We are pleased to support and commit to our Chilean partners as they grow their Master of Theological Studies. Ambrose University is excited to see the impact of this initiative within the Church in Chile.
