Ordering Official Transcripts
If you need to submit an official transcript from Ambrose to another institution, you’ll need to complete and sign the Transcript Request Form so that we can release your confidential academic records. All fees and outstanding amounts must be paid in full before transcripts will be released.
Transcript Request Form - Now Online
Please note: Filling out your Student ID number will help us process your request more quickly, but if you can’t remember your ID number you can leave that section of the form blank.
Fees
The cost for each individual official transcript is $10.00 if sent via regular mail, emailed or picked up. If you would like your transcript sent via express post, the cost is $30.00 per transcript.
Processing Time
Transcripts typically can take 5-10 business days. This time period begins from the date that payment is received and any financial encumbrance with Ambrose University is removed.
We process requests in the order in which they’re received, and it’s not possible to speed up processing time. If you’re in a hurry to have your transcript delivered, you can select an express mail option on the request form and pay the additional charges for that service.
Official vs. Unofficial Transcripts
Your Official Transcript is the official record of your academic history from the time you began at Ambrose to the end of the last semester you attended. This document is only issued from the Office of the Registrar, and it bears the institution’s seal as well as the signature of the Registrar. All official transcripts are printed on security paper and come in a sealed envelope marked void if seal is broken. Please note that only original hard copies (that is, not faxed copies) of your official transcript are considered official by the receiving party.
An unofficial transcript also provides a record of your academic history from the time you began at Ambrose to the end of the last semester you attended, and is also issued from the Office of the Registrar. However, it lacks the authoritative appearance of an official transcript because it isn’t printed on security paper and isn’t signed or sealed. We can provide unofficial transcripts at no cost. To request an unofficial transcript, either complete the Transcript Request Form, or print an unofficial transcript yourself from your Student Portal.
If students need to provide a syllabus for specific courses, they can request archived syllabi if they no longer have their own copy. To request an archived syllabus or syllabi, the following form will need to be filled out and submitted to the Registrar's Office.
Students of Institutions that Became Ambrose
If you attended one of the institutions that later became Ambrose University, you can still follow the same procedure outlined above to submit an Official Transcript Request Form.
Ambrose University holds the complete student records for all of its historical schools--Alliance University College, Nazarene University College, Canadian Theological Seminary, Canadian Bible College, and Canadian Nazarene College. We realize that all our name changes can be confusing for people who aren’t familiar with our history, and we don’t want that confusion to interfere in any way with your academic future. Because of this, we include a cover letter with the official transcript that summarizes our history and name changes to make it easier for the receiving party to understand our institutional story. Your transcripts will also show the school name as it was when you attended.
